BREAST LIFT/REDUCTION | PROCEDURES
Breast reduction is a common procedure for women with large breasts that cause discomfort and pain, or who are self-conscious about their breast size. Some women have serious conditions such as back pain, shoulder pain, altered stature, etc. We perform most reductions under deep sedation and local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Some patients, however, may need General Anesthesia in a hospital setting.
During a breast reduction procedure, your doctor removes fat deposits and reshapes the breast, making them smaller and more proportional to your body. This also includes resizing and repositioning of the areola and the removal of excess skin and breast tissue. The goal of a breast reduction is to make the breasts appear identical and symmetrical. The final size of the reduced breasts is determined after swelling has gone down and, in many cases, can take several months. By alleviating the pressure on the spine and shoulders, issues like posture problems, back pain, and others can be resolved with this procedure.
As part of your consultation, your doctor will discuss with you the option of adding a breast implant to replace some volume for a more full or rounded shape following reduction. Patients can usually return to light activity within two to three days after surgery. Full activity can resume within two to three weeks, but activities that entail vigorous movement should be avoided for 12 weeks.
BREAST LIFT (MASTOPEXY)
Breast lift surgery, or mastopexy, combats the effects of aging on delicate breast tissue. Over the years, this tissue can lose shape and firmness due to pregnancy, age, and gravity. The mastopexy procedure will raise and reshape the breasts to repair skin elasticity. This procedure can also be used to reduce the size of the areola (the darker circle of skin surrounding the nipple)
Breast Lift/Reduction Information
Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures. Most women (and Men) associate ample breasts with femininity and sexiness. If you are unhappy with your breast size, breast augmentation can greatly improve your self-confidence. It can be used to correct volume loss , involution after pregnancy, to balance breast size asymmetries and sometimes as a reconstructive technique following other breast surgery.
